One Response to “Athletic Updates”

  1. Marlene Schmidt Says:

It is with great regret especially after leading such successful seasons that Mr. Gary Tameris will no longer be leading such aquatic activities that have provided valuable experiences to so many. And also represented the school in a manner with which one can be proud as well as honored with success.

Beyond the regular seasons for water polo and swimming there were countless students that learned valuable skills including those with handicaps such as autism and Down’s syndrome, illnesses such as asthma whose lung capacity can improve from such activity to name just a few examples.. There was not exclusivity, boys and girls equally participated, as well as special needs benefiting in the activities that are rigorous and teach discipline. Also life guards were provided for the community a plus for the students and the neighborhood pools.

It has been amazing to see how many individuals continue active in their sport after being coached by Mr. Tamaris and have returned as successful alumni for the alumni game during the water polo season. 24 years of service lost. It will truely be a loss on so many levels in the years ahead. I hope you will appropriately acknowledge and reflect upon this.
