New Milford Schools Foundation will support teachers, students

The Milford Schools Foundation was founded to make sure teachers have a place to go when they have needs the district can’t meet financially.  “We want to raise funds to supplement things the teachers, administrators and the schools need that they don’t have the money to do,” Jean Ackermann, a member of the organizing committee, said in an interview with the Community Press.

The foundation is independent of the school district.  Many districts throughout the state have community-based foundations to provide additional support to their school districts.  This is even more important as funding shrinks, putting pressure on district budgets.

The Foundation will be holding its first fundraiser on November 13.  It will honor six outstanding Milford High School alumni.   For more information & to purchase tickets, click here.
