SMART goals for 2012-13 school year

The following are the SMART goals for the Milford School District for 2012-13.  These correspond with current State Report Card results and also results as shared in the District Annual Progress Report.  All building leadership teams will be responsible for setting building goals that will support these district goals.

While these are “stretch” goals, district administration believes they are achievable based on student performance over the past few years, new curriculum that is in place, and the commitment of our teachers and support staff.

The district will improve achievement for all students by the end of the 2012-13 school year, as evidenced by:

  • Improving the district performance index to 107 (currently at 105.1)
  • Meeting Adequate Yearly Progress targets
  • Meeting Value Added benchmarks
  • Achieving a 93% passing rate for all OAA and OGT subject tests, all grade levels
  • Improving the high school average ACT score to 23.6 (currently 23.4)
  • Maintaining current AP enrollment (appr. 475 students) and improving the passing rate to 76.0% (currently 75.4%)

The district will improve writing across the curriculum by the end of the 2012-2013 school year, as evidenced by:

  • 100% of K-5 students meeting trade level standards through Writers’ Workshop units
  • 100% of Grades 6-12 students will score at the proficient or better level on a district-created rubric, focusing specifically on social studies in this first year of revised standards implementation
